This 4BHK renovation at The Golden Palms, Sector 168, Noida focused on improving storage, study areas and everyday usability while retaining parts of the existing apartment that were still worth keeping.

Instead of replacing everything, we combined new custom furniture with selected repairs, repainting, UPVC replacement work, wall treatments, painting and electrical changes.

What the Homeowners Wanted

The homeowners wanted the apartment to feel more organised and better suited to daily family use.

The main requirements were:

  • more useful bedroom storage
  • dedicated study/work areas
  • better use of the master-bedroom bay window
  • selected wardrobe improvements instead of complete replacement
  • upgraded windows and doors
  • refreshed bedroom walls and furniture
  • painting and electrical changes across the apartment

This led to a renovation approach where new work was added only where it improved function or the final look.

Custom Bookshelf Feature Wall

One of the strongest features in the completed project is the full-height bookshelf and display wall.

The unit combines open shelves for books and décor with a geometric centre arrangement that breaks up the regular grid. It works as practical storage, but it also gives the room a strong visual identity.

Two Integrated Study Areas

Built-in study desk with overhead cabinets and open shelving

The project included two major study solutions.

In the kids room, the new wardrobe was designed with an attached study unit and loft. In the master bedroom, an L-shaped study was integrated into the bay-window side of the room.

For the kids-room wardrobe and study, the signed scope specifies 18 mm Woodlam plywood, 1 mm Virgo Croma Plus / Advance laminate outside, 0.8 mm laminate inside and Century soft-close fittings.

The master-bedroom L-shaped study used the same quoted furniture specification.

Bay-Window Seating with Drawer Storage

L-shaped bay-window seating with storage drawers

The master-bedroom bay window was turned into a usable seating area instead of being left as passive floor space.

An upholstered L-shaped seat was built around the window, with drawers below for concealed storage.

This gave the room an extra place to sit while also making better use of the available depth below the window.

Master Bedroom Wall Treatment

Vertical wall panelling behind an upholstered bed

The master-bedroom bed-back wall was finished with 12 mm Woodlam ply and louver panels, as specified in the signed scope.

The wall treatment was combined with an upholstered bed-back, bedside furniture and pendant lighting to create a warmer, more finished bedroom without adding unnecessary decorative layers.

What We Retained and What We Replaced

A key part of this renovation was deciding what could be improved instead of automatically replaced.

We retained and upgraded selected existing elements, including wardrobe components, wardrobe shelving and beds that were repainted.

New work included the kids-room wardrobe and study, the master-bedroom L-shaped study and bay-window furniture, the custom bookshelf and new wall treatments.

Selected existing aluminium windows were dismantled and replaced with UPVC systems across multiple areas of the apartment.

UPVC, Painting and Other Renovation Work

UPVC window installed as part of the apartment renovation

The signed scope included UPVC work in the living, dining, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.

Other renovation work included:

  • complete painting of the 4BHK apartment and servant area
  • switchboard and cove-light changes
  • additional electrical points
  • balcony tile work and repairs
  • balcony cabinet
  • door-frame panelling
  • AC frames and reinstallation work
  • railing painting
  • aluminium-profile mirrors
  • debris removal after dismantling work

The project specification listed Asian Paints Royal Shine for painting, Fenista for UPVC work and Kajaria / Somany for applicable tile work.

The Result

The biggest improvement came from making the bedrooms work harder.

The custom bookshelf added useful storage without turning the room into a wall of closed cabinets. The study units created proper work areas. The bay-window seating added both comfort and drawer storage. Existing furniture that could still be used was repaired or repainted instead of being replaced unnecessarily.

The final apartment feels more organised, warmer and better adapted to the family’s everyday use.
